The Root Agency helps philanthropy take root and grow--through strategic and fund development planning, fundraising training and implementation, donor-centric communications, and community engagement. Together, we have raised more than $100 million across nonprofit sectors. We work with national brand nonprofits like Big Brothers Big Sisters and Habitat for Humanity and local nonprofits like the Catholic Student Center at USF. We are starting our fifth year, and we are positioning to scale.

We need a strong Chief Operating Officer.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Root Agency will directly manage the day-to-day essential functions of the organization while reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The COO will continuously assess the business structure to align efficiencies, meet client needs, minimize risk, and optimize profitability.

Your Responsibilities will Sow the Seeds for Professional, Client, and Business Growth.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Manage daily operations to include, sales, finance, human resources, client relations, employee relations, and quality assurance

  • Oversee policies, procedures, and compliance (business, state, & federal levels)

  • Prepare management and operational reports for the CEO as requested

  • Directly impact sustainable growth, increase efficiencies, and minimize risk

  • Actively lead strategic planning sessions with key stakeholders

  • Hire, coach, mentor, and supervise employees

  • Lead sustainable company growth

  • Travel as needed to support client and community relations (up to 10%)

  • Manage a team hybrid remote/office schedule

We are a Hybrid Company.

We are physically located in Dunedin, FL, at The Hub above the Chamber of Commerce in Downtown Dunedin. We currently serve clients in 10 states. Our team members are located across the US. Local candidates are preferred.

  • Analytical thinker with strategic insight and problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of IT/Business/Non-profit performance measures and metrics

  • Demonstrated understanding of analytics

  • Technical Skills: Microsoft Office/Google Drive/Adobe Acrobat Pro   

Minimum Requirements:

Four-year degree (B.A./B.S.) in business, finance, non-profit management, project management or similar degree.  

 

Five years’ experience in a compatible leadership position 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

M.B.A. or graduate degree in non-profit management, finance, project management or similar degree

 

10 years experience in a compatible leadership position

This is a Full-time Position.

The salary range for this position is $90,000-$110,000 based on experience. 2 weeks PTO plus a week off at Thanksgiving, 2 weeks off in December and generous holiday schedule. Meaningful work in a supportive team environment.
