We need a strong Executive Director.
​

The Executive Director will lead nonprofit client engagements that include assessments, infrastructure setup, capacity building, planning studies, and capital campaigns. The Executive Director will work directly with the VP of Development and collaborate with other positions within the company. 

​

At The Root Agency, we expect all team members to serve as leaders, and this role will execute the following activities:
 
• Manage a set of The Root Agency nonprofit clients according to The Root Agency System’s Nonprofit Partner Journey in the key areas of Data, Research & Technology, Development, and Creative and Strategic Deliverables (This is conducted as a TEAM.)

 

• Facilitate regularly scheduled client meetings by providing executive coaching, training, information gathering, recommendations, and deliverables in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Adobe Acrobat Pro

 

• Lead The Root Agency nonprofit clients from annual fundraising to capital campaign efforts

​

• Provide sophisticated strategy based on data analytics

​

• Produce Word wireframes, copywriting, and editing for creative deliverables

 

• Conduct donor research: individual, corporate, and grants

 

• Prepare agenda, standardized materials, notes, and next actions for each meeting

 

• Project manage across multi-departments

 

• Balance client priorities with The Root Agency growth projects

 

• Invest in building long-lasting relationships both externally and internally

 

• Exercise a high level of confidentiality 

 

• Listen with detail

• Perform basic duties such as completing reports, formatting documents to company brand guidelines, digital filing, and data entry

 

• Balance client priorities with assigned The Root Agency growth projects

 

• Stay abreast of industry research, trends, and innovation

​

• All other projects/duties as assigned

​

We are a Hybrid Company.

​

We are physically located in Dunedin, FL, at the Hub above the Chamber of Commerce in Downtown Dunedin. We currently serve clients in 15 states. Our team members are located across the US. This position is a hybrid position that varies among remote, onsite (nationwide), and HQ locations. Company core hours are from 8:30-5:00.  Up to 50% of travel time for client and company needs.

Are You the Right Fit?

 

• Must be coachable, a nimble executor, and adaptable with a finesse           

       to creating order in complex environments

​

• BA/BS degree or similar college education (preferably in communications, public relations, nonprofit management and/or marketing) with 10 year's experience in nonprofit development and/or within a Executive Director/Director role. Master’s degree preferred. Capital campaign experience a plus.

 

​• Management experience leading dynamic teams of all experience levels

​

• Must be detail and results-oriented with an ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced, and constantly evolving hybrid environment 

 

​• Ability to evaluate priorities and multi-task accordingly, while keeping others apprised of status with respect to firm due dates

​

• Ability to identify challenges, independently perform research, and recommend strategy and process improvement 

​

• Excellent writing, editing, art direction, and formal presentation skills


• Demonstrated knowledge of nonprofit fundraising or corporate philanthropic strategy

​

• Passion and ownership of your work with the desire to meet the high expectations required for a fast-growing business 

​

• Value altruism and philanthropic endeavors 

​

• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Drive, Apple products, Zoom, and multiple technology and software platforms 

​

• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Asana, Slack, Salesforce NPSP CRM, Donor Search, and other fundraising software a plus

​

​

This is a Full-time Position.

​

The starting salary for this position is $90,000 with performance-based bonuses and performance-based promotions. As a benefit, we offer 10 days of PTO, all federal holidays, and we are closed the week of Thanksgiving 

and 2 weeks at the end of the year. 401k is available with health benefits coming soon! Meaningful work in a supportive team environment.
