We continue to deliver results for reputable nonprofits to include Big Brothers Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, Catholic Charities, Catholic Dioceses, Humane Societies, University of South Florida, and more. We specialize in supporting small and mid-sized non-profit organizations to better serve their communities. The Root Agency is headquartered in Dunedin, Florida.

We Need a Strong Executive Director.

  • A BA/BS degree or similar college education (preferred majors: nonprofit management, communications, public relations, or marketing) with 8-10 years’ experience in nonprofit development, and/or an Executive Director/Director role. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in Planned Giving, Major Gifts, and Capital Campaign experience preferred.
  • Certified Fundraising Executive, CFRE preferred.
  • Experience in a consulting role a plus.
  • Management experience leading dynamic teams of all experience levels.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of nonprofit fundraising or corporate philanthropic strategy.
  • Must exercise a high-level of confidentiality; be coachable, highly organized, and can execute to meet project deliverable due dates.
  • Exhibits a positive attitude with resiliency and perseverance in working with complex projects.
  • Must be detail and results-oriented with an ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced, and constantly evolving hybrid environment with diverse teams and skill sets.

  • Exhibits excellent writing, editing, creative design, and formal presentation skills.
  • Intermediate skills using Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Experience utilizing Apple products and Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Drive, and Forms/Sheets)
  • Experience working with Zoom and other online video conferencing platforms 
  • Experience with CRM platforms: Salesforce NPSP CRM, Raiser’s Edge NXT, Bloomerang, Donor Perfect, ParishSoft, etc. and other fundraising software a plus.
  • PMP and/or Six Sigma Certifications a plus
  • Experience in Asana, Adobe Creative Suite, and Kajabi a plus.

At The Root Agency, We Expect All Team Members to Serve as Leaders, and This Role Will Execute the Following Activities: 

  • Manages a set of nonprofit clients according to The Root Agency Nonprofit Partner Journey in the key areas of Development, Data, Design, and Delivery (This is conducted as a TEAM)
  • Facilitates regularly scheduled client meetings by providing executive coaching, training, information gathering, recommendations, and deliverables.
  • Leads The Root Agency nonprofit clients from annual fundraising to capital campaign efforts depending on professional service agreements.
  • Effectively identifies challenges, provides sophisticated strategy and process improvement recommendations based on data analysis
  • Produces Word wireframes, copywriting, and editing for creative deliverables
  • Performs independent donor research: individual, corporate, and grants
  • Prepares agendas, standardized materials, notes, and next actions for each meeting
  • Project manages across multi-departments while balancing client priorities with assigned TRA growth projects
  • Invests in building long-lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Pays close attention to detail and utilizes active listening skills
  • Performs basic duties such as completing reports, formatting documents to TRA Brand guidelines, digital filing, and data entry
  • Coordinates daily communications via telephone, email, and other software applications used by The Root Agency and our client partners.
  • Stays informed of philanthropic industry research, trends, and innovation
  • Possesses a passion for and ownership of your work with the desire to meet and exceed the high expectations required for a fast-growing business.
  • All other projects/duties as assigned

This is a Full-Time Position.

  • The salary is $80,000 with budgeted performance-based bonuses and opportunity for performance-based promotions.
  • Candidates must live within a commutable distance of TRA headquarters in Dunedin, FL.
  • This position is hybrid, and it varies among remote, onsite (nationwide), and HQ locations.
  • Up to 50% travel time may be required to support client and/or company needs.
  • A professional development and training schedule will be provided outlining the 90-day probationary period.
  • After completing the 90-day probationary period this position becomes eligible for:
    • A flexible hybrid schedule
    • 10 days of PTO (can be used for sick/personal/vacation leave), 8 federal holidays, 1 floating holiday of your choice, and 15 business closure days (34 days total). This includes TRA business closure the week of Thanksgiving and two weeks at the end of the calendar year.
    • An annual $2,500 QSEHRA health premium and/or expenses reimbursement benefit.
  • After one-year of continuous full-time employment this position becomes eligible for a 401k benefit.

We Are a Hybrid Company.

  • Our headquarters is located at 424 Skinner Blvd, APT A, Dunedin, FL.
  • We currently serve clients nationwide.
  • Our team members are located across the US.
  • Company core hours are from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Eastern, Monday – Friday.
